<\/p>\nPresident Donald Trump has escalated his feud with Elon Musk by saying he will \u2018look\u2019 at deporting him and might turn the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) on him.<\/p>\n
Trump threatened Musk on Tuesday morning over his opposition to the \u2018Big, Beautiful Bill\u2019.<\/p>\n
\u2018He\u2019s upset that he\u2019s losing his EV mandate,\u2019 Trump told reporters while leaving the White House.<\/p>\n
\u2018He could lose a lot more than that, I can tell you right now. Elon could lose a lot more than that.\u2019<\/p>\n
Trump was asked if he would consider deporting Musk, who is a South Africa native and US citizen.<\/p>\n
\u2018I don\u2019t know, we\u2019ll have to take a look,\u2019 Trump relied.<\/p>\n
The president added: \u2018We might have to put DOGE on Elon.<\/p>\n
\u2018You know what DOGE is? DOGE is the monster that might have to go back and eat Elon. Wouldn\u2019t that be terrible? He gets a lot of subsidies. Elon\u2019s very upset that the EV mandate is going to be terminated.\u2019<\/p>\n
Trump unleashed fierce criticism of Musk, weeks after the pair had a public bust-up.<\/p>\n
It came as Republicans hoped to pass Trump\u2019s \u2018Big, Beautiful Bill\u2019 in the Senate \u2013 part of which could end electric vehicle tax credits, something which Musk has been passionate about.<\/p>\n
Trump had his way on Tuesday afternoon as the Senate narrowly passed his bill 51-50, with Vice President JD Vance casting the tiebreaking vote. The bill, which would cut taxes as well as some social safety net programs, now heads to the House where it also faces hurdles.<\/p>\n
Musk said days ago that cuts to the EV credits would be \u2018incredibly destructive\u2019 to the US, but Trump has hit back and said he knew when he endorsed him for President that Trump was \u2018strongly against\u2019 the EV mandate.<\/p>\n
Taking to Truth Social, Trump wrote: \u2018It is ridiculous, and was always a major part of my campaign. Electric cars are fine, but not everyone should be forced to own one.<\/p>\n
\u2018Elon may get more subsidies than any human being in history, by far, and without subsidies, Elon would probably have to close up shop and head back home to South Africa.<\/p>\n
\u2018No more Rocket launches, Satellites, or Electric Car Production, and our Country would save a FORTUNE. Perhaps we should have DOGE take a good, hard look at this? BIG MONEY TO BE SAVED!!!\u2019<\/p>\n

Musk, in addition to running electric vehicle company Tesla, is also the head of SpaceX, which has launched multiple rockets in the past decade.<\/p>\n
He previously headed up DOGE for the government, hoping to lower the national deficit \u2013 something which Musk claims will only increase if Trump\u2019s \u2018Big, Beautiful Bill\u2019 passes.<\/p>\n
Musk has made multiple posts on X about the bill, sharing one photo of Pinocchio burning with the words \u2018LIAR\u2019 boldened.<\/p>\n
\u2018Anyone who campaigned on the PROMISE of REDUCING SPENDING, but continues to vote on the BIGGEST DEBT ceiling increase in HISTORY will see their face on this poster in the primary next year,\u2019 he added.<\/p>\n
The bust-up between Trump and Musk is the latest confrontation after a public blowout in June.<\/p>\n
The first major cracks in their relationship showed at the end of last month on what turned out to be Musk\u2019s last day in the White House.<\/p>\n
When asked about Musk\u2019s disapproval of his \u2018Big, Beautiful Bill\u2019, the US president told reporters: \u2018Elon and I had a great relationship. I don\u2019t know if we will ever.\u2019<\/p>\n
It was Musk\u2019s tweet \u2013 linking Trump with the disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein \u2013 that caused the most controversy.<\/p>\n
He alleged that the Republican leader is featured in the secret government files on rich and powerful former associates of the sex offender, reigniting long-running conspiracy theories.<\/p>\n
Musk posted: \u2018Time to drop the really big bomb: (Trump) is in the Epstein files. That is the real reason they have not been made public.\u2019<\/p>\n
He later reposted a video from 1992 of Trump partying with Epstein and memes about their feud \u2013 amplifying them to his 220 million followers on X.<\/p>\n
He later said he regretted the post. But in April, tensions were also high between the pair: Trump ordered his staff to ensure Musk didn\u2019t go to a highly classified meeting on China after finding out Musk had been planning to attend.<\/p>\n
